Many clubs have a tradition to mark the start of the sailing season. At Queen City Yacht Club we have Sailpast. After a long, cold and damp Toronto Winter and a hectic spring of prepping and launching boats, we are ready to celebrate the start of summer.
Sailpast is a quirky name. And yet, the activity is perfectly described. The entire club takes their boats out into the harbour and we sail past the Commodore's boat.
There is much laughter and gritting of teeth and rusty sailing skills cope with too many boats trying to be in the same place at once.
This year the weather is forecasted to be warm and sunny. Last year it was dark and stormy. Here's a picture.
