Sailing season in Canada is short.  We launch just after Easter and Haul just after Canadian Thanksgiving.  That gives us about 5.5 months of sailing time.  Except, once you do your spring maintenance, fall prep, work and family obligations there seems to be about 5.5 days of sailing each season.

The issue isn't desire.  The issue is responsibilities.  It may be that you can't be responsible and a sailor.  It may be you have to be irresponsible to be a sailor.  Forget work, your parents, your kids, the lawn and everything else and just go sailing.  Oh wait, I think Jimmy Buffet has made a career with this message.
