I finished sewing the covers for the mattress last Friday and we installed them in the boat on Saturday.  If I do say so myself, they look wonderful.  They fit snuggly.  Not too snuggly - there are no unfortunate bumps in the middle of the ends.  The carefully measured curves fit the sides of the hull beautifully and there is about one finger's width of room to tuck in a blanket.

The original padded cover makes a great pillow top.  So we are all set for our first night aboard next weekend - Launch!
