By December in Toronto you can expect cold, freezing and some snow.  Not this year.  Many days are like mid October.  Because of the warm weather we were able to work on the bright work.  Pearsons have a little teak - handrails, combing, hatchboards and sliders.

This year we tackled the hatchboards and sliders.  It turns out that I am a little better at varnishing that my husband, which I don't think is a good thing.  Now he can always say - you do it you're better at it than I am.  In the area of sanding, I haven't found a way to remove the grey of the wood on the weathered sections.  So when I re-varithane, it shows up darker.  I am pleased that my finish has very few bubbles.

We do have one big problem.  We removed the handrails above and below decks when we had the deck recored.  The handrails have been revarnished and they look beautiful.  However, we can't figure out how to redrill the deck so that it lines up with the handrails inside and out.  Anyone else have this problem?
