We are back from Annapolis. Inspite of absolutely torrential rain for three days, it was a blast. The soggy conditions kept the tourists away and we could look at almost any boat we liked.
The Oysters left after the second day. The wind and the fetch and their massive size made it difficult for the temporary docks to hold them. We went on the Oyster 62 on Friday. The luxury that a mere $3 million can buy you.
We discovered several models of boats we had not heard of - the Shannon, the Saber and the Calibre. All very fine boats. The Outbound 44 was just as impressive as when we first saw it last year. I was disappointed in the Island Packets. We had been reading about these popular boats in the cruising magazines. However, their use of space was not as efficient as some of the other boats and we understand they sail a little like tanks.
